Blue Buddha

BAISHAJYAGURU, “Master-healer, king of the lapis-lazuli light”

I had been attracted by a small reproduction of the Blue Buddha and I felt like drawing it.

I introduced a few modifications: I put a leaf of ginkgo biloba, symbol of immortality, in his right hand.

I added a frog in his aura. It had to be so! I have just read that it is a symbol of metamorphosis and resurrection. It is also “the result of a long process of development and evolution”. Great!

Finally, I painted a colibri (“beijo-flor”) in Portuguese. I thought that is colorful feathers would embellish the painting.

This Buddha holds in his left hand a bowl with a flame which, I feel, is linked to the red ball above the head chakra.

Thanks to the artistic activity, we discover the capacity to surprise ourselves because it connect us with the Self, this inner Diamond, this center of love an creativity which exists in each one of us.
