Abadiania: A Place where Heaven Marries the Earth

Abadiania is a small town located in this gigantic region of Brazil called: “Cerrado”: a landscape of savanna with rivers, lakes, waterfalls and the glory of the sunsets like an hymn to Creation.

The Casa de Dom Inacio is built on a small hill overlooking a valley which goes down smoothly to a river. The buildings are painted blue and white. They are scattered in a very big garden.

Joao de Deus is present three days per week. People come  from all over the world to get help for their physical and moral health but some of them prefer to restore themselves by joining the meditation groups.

I feel a big contrast between the intensity of these tree days in the Casa and the monotony, the austerity of daily life.  I am aware of the high value of meditation but having an artistic activity helps me a lot.
